To raise disaster awareness among citizens, particularly those raising children, we worked on improving a framework for disaster reduction activities that combines citizen science with participatory art, as well as supporting digital tools. New features incorporated into the tools included disaster reduction action maps integrated with art displays and a chat system that allows users to view feedback from residents. Through two resident workshops and two experiments involving student participants, we confirmed a positive shift in awareness regarding self-help and mutual aid in disaster management activities.
