Shizuoka Prefecture "advanced agriculture project"

Based at the Agri Open Innovation Practical and Applied Research Center (AOI-PARC) in Shizuoka Prefecture, the AOI Project conducts R&D in agriculture-related fields using ICT and other advanced technologies while seeking to expand their usage. Amidst these activities, it aims to advance sustainable agriculture among local communities by fostering a virtuous cycle between agriculture and food, encouraging the pursuit of efficient production methods and supporting behavioral changes among producers to reduce environmental impact.

In AY 2025, TPOplan was released. Available on the App Store and Google Play, it was used for a preliminary demonstration at an agricultural high school in the prefecture. To address the problem of a shrinking agricultural workforce, this project also moved into working on SODAT, a system that represents agricultural work in terms of standardized “tasks” to dynamically connect local workers with agricultural businesses according to their personnel needs. Specifically, in addition to conducting a comparative survey of personnel matching services in Japan and overseas, the project organized agricultural operations into a total of 80 standardized tasks across four domains: vegetable cultivation, fruit tree cultivation, tea cultivation, and administrative/promotional work. Then, toward the full-scale development of SODAT, the project began operating cultivation equipment and developed a dashboard that allows users to monitor cultivation environments and conditions.
