A. While that is recommended, it is not strictly necessary to decide in advance. However, your academic advisor at Keio may have contact with a faculty member at the host institution, so please consult thoroughly with your academic advisor.
A. If you wish to apply to multiple institutions, please consult thoroughly with your academic advisor about the content of your studies and your planned research topic at each host institution.
A. The Master of Science in Engineering is not eligible. Therefore, for your laboratory at the Keio graduate school, you must choose a major that grants a Master of Science degree.
A. For programs conducted in English, you should prepare to have at least a B2 level on the CEFR scale, which is roughly equivalent to a TOEFL iBT score of 80. Some host universities may specify a minimum score for application, so be sure to check the application guidelines. If your desired university has a specific score requirement, you should prepare to surpass it. You can never be too proficient in a language, so we recommend focusing on language acquisition as soon as you start considering studying abroad.
A. According to the regulations for student exchange programs, students pay tuition to Keio University while studying abroad, and tuition fees at the host institution are waived. Insurance fees, student association fees, and other costs vary by host institution, so please refer to reports from past exchange students for more information.
A. The dates cannot be changed. If you are unable to attend the interview screening due to participation in a language training program sponsored by Keio University or for other similar reasons, please consult the International Affairs section of the Office of Student Services, Faculty of Science and Technology, at the time of your application.
