On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Homecoming Day was held, inviting alumni celebrating their 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries of graduation or completion of their studies from the Faculty of Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, and Graduate School of Science and Technology. The event provided an update on the recent activities of the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Science and Technology, and participants enjoyed a reception and a tour of the educational and research facilities on the Yagami Campus.
On the day of the event, approximately 170 alumni and their families gathered at the Yagami Campus. Following a welcome address by Dean Toshiyuki Murakami, Dr. Hirotaka Osawa of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, gave a lecture as an alumnus, introducing his research. Afterward, Tomoharu Oka, Chair of the Public Relations Committee, and Dean Toshiyuki Murakami explained the current status and future direction of the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Science and Technology. The event then moved to a different venue for a reception, which concluded on a high note with all participants singing "Wakaki-chi" together.
During the self-guided tour, many alumni also visited various facilities, including the Manufacturing Center, the Central Service Facilities for Science and Technology Research, Building 36, and the Media Center. Throughout the campus, voices could be heard expressing surprise and nostalgia at the changes from their student days, and many were seen reconnecting with old friends they had not seen in a long time.
