Insurance (Gakkensai/Gakkenbai)

The university enrolls undergraduate and graduate students in the Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research (commonly known as Gakkensai) as a measure for compensation and relief against unforeseen accidents during educational and research activities in Japan and abroad. Illness is not covered by this insurance. To be eligible for coverage, students must submit the Notification of Off-campus Research and Academic Conference Activities for regular curriculum activities (including online), or the Notification of Off-campus Student Activities for extracurricular activities.

Insurance benefits are paid for damages incurred when a student (the insured) becomes legally liable for compensation, such as for injuring another person or damaging another's property. This applies to incidents occurring in Japan and abroad during regular curriculum activities, school events, extracurricular activities, or the commute to and from these activities. All regular students enrolled at the Yagami Campus are covered by this insurance. To be eligible for coverage, students must submit the Notification of Off-campus Research and Academic Conference Activities for regular curriculum activities (including online), or the Notification of Off-campus Student Activities for extracurricular activities.

Students who wish to receive a Certificate of Insurance for Gakkensai and Gakkenbai should apply using the form below. Please note that certificates cannot be issued for activities such as internships that do not involve course registration, as these are not covered by the insurance.
