*Deadlines vary for each scholarship, so please be sure to check the Scholarship Application Information. Applications cannot be accepted if the documents arrive at the university after the deadline. Please prepare and send your documents well in advance.

(4) Checking the Status of Your Application (for applications accepted by the university)

How to Check Your Application Status

When your application documents are accepted by the university, the selection status on the "Scholarship Application and Award Status" screen of the Scholarship Web Application System will change to [Under review]. If the status does not change to [Under review] several days after sending your documents and you have not received any notification from the university administrative staff via the Scholarship Web System, please first confirm the delivery status with the delivery service provider. If your package has arrived at Yagami Campus, please contact the Student Life Section of the Office of Student Services, Faculty of Science and Technology, five business days or more after the arrival date. If your documents do not arrive at Yagami Campus by the deadline, the status will not change to [Under review].

Correction of Incomplete Documents

If there are any deficiencies in the submitted documents, a notification from the university administrative staff indicating that corrections are needed will be displayed on the Scholarship Web Application System (you will not be notified of deficiencies by email). Please follow the instructions to submit or correct the incomplete documents. If the deficiencies are not resolved, you will be at a disadvantage in the selection process, so please check the Scholarship Web Application System frequently after applying.

Selection

Since all scholarships have a limited number of nominations and awards, not all applicants will be selected. Each scholarship has its own selection process, which may include essays or interviews. The schedule between the application deadline and the selection is often tight, so if there are any deficiencies or errors in your application documents, you may be excluded from the selection process.

(5) Checking the Selection Results (for applications submitted through the university)

Applicants who have passed the on-campus document screening (candidates for the on-campus interview)

Applicants who have been formally awarded the scholarship by the foundation

On the Scholarship Web Application System, your status will be displayed as [Awarded], and you will be able to see the amount to be transferred.

Unsuccessful applicants

On the Scholarship Web Application System, your status will be displayed as [Not Awarded].

*The progress and reasons for the selection decision will not be disclosed.

(6) Receiving the Scholarship Award

If you are selected for the scholarship, the funds will be transferred to a bank account in your name. Some scholarships may require you to complete certain procedures after being selected, so please follow the instructions. Please note that if, after being awarded the scholarship, you are repeating the previous year, take a leave of absence, study abroad, or withdraw from the university, your payments may be suspended, or you may be required to return a portion of the funds you have received, depending on the scholarship. You must promptly notify the scholarship section at your campus and complete the necessary procedures.
