About the Fujiwara Scholarship and the Fujiwara Prize

The Keio University Faculty of Science and Technology was formerly the Fujiwara Institute of Technology, which was donated to Keio University by the late Mr. Ginjiro Fujiwara. In 1997, a fund was donated by Mr. Yuzo Fujiwara—Keio University alumni and head of the Fujiwara family—to establish a scholarship program for students of the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Science and Technology. The fund was established with the aim of "providing scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students actively engaged in international activities to foster talented individuals capable of contributing to the world through science and technology, and to recognize students who have achieved outstanding results in socially esteemed extracurricular activities."

In gratitude for the Fujiwara family's significant contributions to Keio University and to commemorate them, Keio University established the "Keio University Faculty of Science and Technology and Graduate School of Science and Technology Fujiwara Scholarship."

To honor the wishes of the late Mr. Ginjiro Fujiwara, who encouraged students in their academic pursuits, this fund carries out activities such as providing scholarships to graduate students and international students, as well as recognizing undergraduate and graduate students with the Fujiwara Prize.
