The Hoshino Laboratory conducts research on numerical simulations for plasma applications.
Plasma, the fourth state of matter following solid, liquid, and gas, is applied in various fields. In the Hoshino Laboratory, we focus primarily on fusion plasma, which is attracting attention as a next-generation energy source, and ion source plasma, used for applications such as plasma heating, cancer therapy, and elementary particle research. We are engaged in research from both theoretical and simulation perspectives on the characteristics of plasma, its interaction with neutral gases and walls, and methods for their control.
