The Takahashi Laboratory at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, studies dynamical systems. A dynamical system is a mathematical formulation of phenomena that evolve over time. The unpredictability exhibited by the long-term behavior of what should be a deterministic dynamical system is called "chaos," and it is considered one of the three great discoveries of humanity in the 20th century, alongside the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.
In this laboratory, we conduct research on chaotic dynamical systems.
