[Profile of Professor Kenji Miyamoto]

After completing the Doctoral Programs at the Graduate School of Keio University, he worked for a chemical manufacturer for 10 years, engaged in research on pharmaceutical intermediates and biodegradable plastics. Currently, as a professor in the Department of Biosciences and Informatics, he is working to elucidate biological phenomena and solve environmental problems through his research on the functional modification of enzymes and plastic-degrading bacteria.

His hobbies include fishing, shochu, motorcycles, and collecting fountain pens. He has a particular fondness for the Izu Peninsula, where he enjoys motorcycle touring and visiting hot springs.
