[Profile of Professor Kenji Miyamoto]

After completing the Doctoral Programs at the Graduate School of Keio University, he worked for a chemical manufacturer for 10 years, where he was engaged in research on pharmaceutical intermediates and biodegradable plastics. Currently, as a professor in the Department of Biosciences and Informatics, he is working to elucidate life phenomena and solve environmental issues through research on enzyme functional modification and plastic-degrading bacteria.

His hobbies include fishing, shochu, motorcycles, and collecting fountain pens. He has a particular fondness for the Izu Peninsula, where he enjoys touring on his motorcycle and visiting hot springs.
