Teraoka Laboratory: New Internet and Distributed Systems

The Internet was designed more than 40 years ago, and today, it connects the entire world. In the process, various improved technologies, such as firewalls and Mobile IP, have been introduced to solve problems with security and mobile communication. However, these have been applied like a patchwork, and because they are not consistent with the Internet's original fundamental design, it is said that this approach will eventually fail.

At the Teraoka Laboratory, we are re-examining the fundamental design of the Internet and conducting research on the forthcoming new Internet and distributed systems.
