At the Sudo Laboratory in the Department of System Design Engineering at Keio University, we aim to contribute to regenerative medicine by applying the concepts of system design engineering to life systems.
The systems we use in our daily lives, such as mechanical systems like cars, combine various parts to perform functions that could not be achieved by a single part alone.
At the Sudo Laboratory, we believe that life systems are similarly composed of parts—60 trillion cells—that assemble to form tissues and organs, ultimately functioning as a person or a living being. We are conducting research to elucidate these life systems from an engineering perspective.
