Ohashi Laboratory - Aiming to solve energy problems through the theoretical elucidation of room-temperature superconductivity

The Ohashi group at the Theoretical Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, is conducting research in condensed matter theory, particularly the theoretical study of superconductivity and superfluidity phenomena.

In the superconducting state, where the electrical resistance of a metal becomes completely zero, it is possible to transmit electricity without power loss. This is expected to bring revolutionary advancements not only to science and technology but also to our daily lives.

However, at present, the phenomenon of superconductivity can only be induced at extremely low temperatures.
