Laboratory of Mechanistic Biochemistry (Associate Professor Yoshiaki Furukawa) - Unraveling the Intimate Relationship Between Proteins and Copper Ions

The Furukawa Laboratory at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, is conducting research to elucidate the relationship between proteins and metal ions. While the word "metal" may bring to mind something hard, proteins incorporate these metals as ions into their complex structures, playing a central role in the various physiological functions of proteins.
