Ito Laboratory - [The Ultimate Ultrasensitive Magnetic Sensor] Aiming to Realize "Quantum Measurement" that Makes the Impossible Possible

In collaboration with the Hayase Laboratory from the same department, the Ito Laboratory at the Department of Applied Physics and Physico-Informatics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, is engaged in "quantum measurement." This involves using the laws of quantum mechanics to measure phenomena that are impossible to measure with conventional, classical methods, thereby making the impossible possible.

A particular focus of their research is "single nuclear spin magnetic resonance sensing using diamond." This method involves placing a single electron inside a diamond and using its quantum mechanical properties to measure the magnetic field generated by nearby objects.
