Biochemistry Laboratory (Professor Shiro Shimizu) - Understanding and Control of Metastasis-Related Molecules by Chemical Biology

The Shimizu Laboratory at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, conducts research aimed at understanding and controlling the mechanisms of cancer cell metastasis. Our approaches include chemical biology research using natural and synthetic compounds to inhibit cancer metastasis, and research focusing on the glycochains attached to proteins, including the functional analysis of biosynthetic genes and post-translational modifications.
