Omiya Laboratory - Research on Functional Thin Films through Nanostructure Control

The Omiya Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, is advancing research in mechanical materials and mechanics of materials. The laboratory is particularly focused on the development of functional thin films that are given optical and mechanical properties through structural control at the nanoscale.

This structure, called a nanostructure, is fabricated by depositing material molecules on a rotating substrate using the vacuum deposition method.
