At the Obi Laboratory, our research focuses on the measurement and modeling of turbulent phenomena as our main theme, while also exploring various related topics such as new measurement techniques and computer simulations.
In our daily lives, we encounter and utilize fluids, such as water and air, in all kinds of situations. Turbulent phenomena, in particular, involve complex motion that may at first seem impossible to predict. However, the theory is mature, and a wealth of experience has been accumulated in engineering for various applications such as heating, cooling, and the mixing of substances. Furthermore, simulations using high-performance computers are also utilized in the design of various devices.
