Masayuki Kohiyama Laboratory, Department of System Design Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University: Aiming to Realize a Society with a "Flexible Mechanism" for Earthquake Disaster Prevention

At the Kohiyama Laboratory, we are engaged in research to advance the design of buildings and cities to realize a society with a "flexible mechanism" that can withstand earthquakes. We will introduce our research, including experiments on "Q-Δ resonance," a torsional resonance phenomenon in buildings discovered for the first time in the world, and the improvement of the control performance of the semi-active seismic isolation system of the Sosokan building on the Yagami Campus.
