Shun Ikeda
Product Marketing Manager, Google Inc.
2012 Graduate, Faculty of Policy Management
At Google's headquarters in California, USA, I am in charge of growth marketing for our core product, the search engine. With the goal of getting more people to use the search engine more frequently and in more convenient ways, I am continuously learning every day in the field of "growth hacking." At SFC, I repeatedly learned to identify problems, formulate solutions, and take action. In my research group, I studied IT business management strategy on a project basis. Alongside my studies, I also won a business contest and experienced the process of turning a business model I had developed into an actual business. My studies at SFC, with its environment that recognizes and supports diversity and a culture that affirms "being a pioneer," are connected to my current career. In the future, I plan to continue working in the US for a few more years and am also considering graduate school. Eventually, I want to return to Japan and be involved in a business that communicates the appeal of Japan—which I've come to appreciate from my experience working in the US—to the world and helps it grow.
