In March 2020, all elementary, middle, and high schools in Japan were temporary closed for approximately one month in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this interval, we initiated a programming education program for students ranging from elementary to high school, utilizing the metaverse capabilities of Minecraft. The primary participants in this initiative were educators and students from two private programming institutions. Students engaged in a simulated school experience that leveraged Minecraft's command and Redstone based programming functionalities. Furthermore, the collaborative nature of the metaverse enhanced students' programming and computational thinking abilities. This poster will first delineate the distinctive features of Minecraft's programming environment in contrast to visual programming platforms such as Scratch. Subsequently, we will analyze students' experiences within the metaverse, focusing on peer interaction and the enhancement of motivation towards programming. Finally, we will conduct an evaluation and propose directions for future research.

A brief idea of a programming-by-demonstration system is presented, where we start from simple concrete examples, gradually enhancing them to complex algorithm, in order to gain good scalability. Instead of using complete event sequences, we will use sub-sequences which consist of events selected by certain criterion. Such sub-sequences are generalized to program fragments, which will be merged into a single program. The given event sequences must be most typical demonstration with no conditional branch. Conditional branches are added to the synthesized program by transformation. These synthesis and transformation are described as a metaprogram, which will be helpful when debugging.

Wiki is one of the most successful technologies in Web 2.0 because it is so simple that anyone can start using it instantly. The main aim of this research is to realize a collaborative programming environment that is as simple as Wiki. Each Wiki page contains source code of a Scheme function which is executed on the server. Users can edit any function at any time without complicated procedure, and see the results of their changes instantly. In order to avoid intentional or unintentional destruction of working programs, when users attempt to modify existing functions, the modified version must pass unit tests written by other users. Though changes are made anonymously, we can have some confidence if test cases are written by many users.

Location contexts are important for many context-aware applications. A significant location is a specialized form of location context for expressing a users daily activity. We propose a method to cluster positions measured by cellular phones into significant locations with multiple radii. Cellular phones we used are equipped with a positioning system, where data can be taken in low frequency with wide-varying estimated errors. In order to learn significant locations, our system exploits multiple radii for coping with these characteristics and for adapting to a variety of usersspatial behavioral patterns. We also discuss appropriate parameters for our clustering method.
