In this paper, we propose a flexible relay selection scheme with throughput threshold based on the average charging rate to achieve better throughput even in low charging rate. In our scheme, non-EH can know the goodness of current throughput by comparing latest and current throughput, so that non-EH can select EH with its own peak throughput. Moreover, each node adaptively changes the criteria to be a relaying candidate based on the current charging rate; an EH whose charging rate is low raises the threshold to save the precious energy for better channel condition. By the computer simulation, we show that our proposed relay selection scheme achieves the better throughput than that of the conventional schemes in low charging rate, which is the more realistic condition.

RFID-based inventory systems are getting much attention thanks to its low cost and feasibility of deployment. Especially, detecting missing tag-equipped items, e.g. valuables or confidential documents in shops and warehouses, in real-time is one of the most important system. In this paper, we propose a secure and fast missing tags detection by letting tags respond MAC (Message Authentication Code) using tag's passwords as key in order to detect forged responses. In addition, we also apply a rateless coding for responding MAC to reduce the transmission time. By the security analysis and the computer simulation, we show that our scheme is secure against untrusted reader and faster than conventional schemes.

Adaptive transmission is considered based on the channel matrix’s singular value to achieve the better bit error rate (BER) performance for misalignment cross polarized MIMO system. In the proposed scheme, adaptive transmission is performed for each data transmission based on the singular values and XPD value in MIMO system. Simulation results show that BER performance of the system can be improved.

We propose a mobile nodes relocation method to heal the coverage hole area in the grid based WSN.The range of minimum threshold distance is dynamically adapted in our proposed scheme to avoid high complexity and longer movement of mobile nodes in the relocation process in WSN. It is shown that the proposed method can give the better coverage area with lower processing time.

This paper proposes mobile nodes deployment and coverage hole healing methods by considering the effects of surrounding area. First, static sensor nodes are randomly deployed in the monitoring area which is divided into smaller areas to form the grid.In the proposed method, all mobile sensor nodes move simultaneously to the optimum new positions to vanish the hole in WSN. Optimum new positions can be calculated based on the virtually removing of each mobile node’s effect from the WSN area. The simulation results show that the proposed methods can give the better coverage area with the minimal distance movement of sensor nodes and lower processing time.

We propose the adaptive polarized based optimal physical carrier sensing technique to improve the aggregate throughput of wireless ad hoc network. The simulation results show that the proposed methods can give the higher aggregate throughput for ad hoc network.
