Reseach overview

Nano-scale structures fabricated on semiconductors are called mesoscopic systems. The main research theme is theoretical study of new quantum phenomena observed in these systems. For example, small zero-dimensional systems -quantum dots- can be applied to quantum computers, spintronics, etc., if electron spins confined in them are artificially controlled. Our fundamental researches are linked to such new technologies.

Research areas

Semiconductors, optical properties of condensed matter and atomic physics
