- 1999年より2003年まで(財)日本自動車研究所の寄附講座としてITS(Intelligent Transport Systems)を取り上げたオムニバス形式の授業を大学院（システム分析・設計特論）と学部（管理工学特別講義Ⅰ）に設置した。授業の目的はITSの全体像を解説することと，専門家に講義を依頼することによって，実社会での社会情報システムの構築プロセスを内外の実例を使って解説してもらい，多分野，多領域に跨るITSの動向を時間遅れなしに学生に伝え，研究の糧とするためである。 2004年から寄附講座ではなく通常の講義として同じ形式で継続している。

ITSに関する海外研修

- ITSに関する修士論文，学資論文の作製時に交通シミュレータを利用しているが，技術進歩が早いので，シュミレータを製造しているドイツのPTV社で最新版の研修を1998年から行っている。学生は自らの論文内容について発表を行い，最新ソフトの利用方法を学ぶとともに，最新ソフトに関する意見交換も行っている。PTV社はカールスルーエに本社があるため，これを機会にITS関連施設，大学，企業を訪問し，欧州のITS開発動向を感じ取る機会を与えている。

ITS教育に関する国際連携

- 2002年の国際シンポジウム”ITS Academia Network"開催のきっかけとなったのはITS世界会議におけるITS教育に関する論文発表を通じた情報交換であった。ITS寄附講座に関する紹介とともにITS教育に関するアジア地域での研究者ネットワーク構築に関する発言を積極的に行っている。
