Over the two days of February 26–27, 2015, a Scientific Writing and Publishing Workshop was held at Tsuruoka Town Campus of Keio (TTCK). Eleven researchers in the bio-field, primarily young researchers planning to submit papers in the near future, participated. This workshop was held with the aim of helping researchers acquire paper writing skills and know-how, strengthening their "research output dissemination power" to express their research results more effectively, and enhancing publication in internationally high-impact journals. The lecture level was set for advanced participants, and it was conducted in an interactive format including Q&A and group discussions, centered on lectures by active editors from the Nature Publishing Group. A wide range of topics were covered, from effective sentence construction techniques to the mechanisms of peer review, and the workshop proved to be meaningful, with active Q&A sessions between the instructors and participants. After the conclusion, the instructors presented certificates of completion to the participants. Comments from participants: • "I had my own abstract corrected and was able to clearly understand the points for improvement." • "I was able to learn how to write effective titles and abstracts." • "I gained a good understanding of the process from paper submission to peer review and acceptance."
