Following the visits to Malaysia and Indonesia, the second installment of this fiscal year's "Overseas Business Trip Survey and Training" took place from Monday, September 29 to Sunday, October 5, 2014. A team of four members from this project's working group conducted a visiting survey of universities in the United Kingdom.
This marks the second visit to UK universities following last year. We surveyed universities different from those visited last year, specifically focusing on institutions that have maintained or improved their international reputation in recent years. The six universities surveyed were the University of Manchester, the University of York, the University of Leeds, UCL, LSE, and the University of Exeter.
We exchanged views on each university's research support systems, the role of URAs (University Research Administrators), initiatives for research evaluation and improving global rankings, and international collaborative cooperation.
