Research Promotion Support System at Keio University

Overview

The Office for Research Coordination and Administration works together with the Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects and other administrative offices to promote and support research activities at Keio University.

The office supports the research process from "conception to delivery", fully demonstrating Keio's research capabilities as a university by coordinating the Research Promotion Division, the Planning and Strategy Division, and the Research Data Management Division. The office also helps streamline collaboration in diverse research areas both within and outside of Keio University.

The Research Promotion Division promotes collaboration in Keio's Research Activities with a focus on collaboration across undergraduate faculties, graduate schools, and disciplines, as well as partnerships between industry, academia, and government.

The Planning and Strategy Division is responsible for the collection of information from inside and outside the university and the flexible coordination, promotion, and support of research activities facilitated by optimization of that information at Keio University. The division also promotes information sharing and collaboration between the Office for Research Coordination and Administration and each campus.

The Research Data Management Division is responsible for providing assistance in the creation, protection, maintenance, management, publication, and utilization of research data.

The Office for Research Coordination and Administration collaborates and cooperates with the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which consists of the three divisions: the Open Innovation Division, Intellectual Property Division, and Startup Division. The office is particularly active in the area of industry-academia collaboration in research activities, and aims to actualize real-world implementation of research results as well as form ecosystems of innovation and startups utilizing Keio University's intellectual assets. In collaboration with the Global Research Institute (KGRI), which serves to showcase Keio's research, the office also works to enhance the university's research capabilities and to facilitate world-class interdisciplinary research projects.
