KeMCo New Year Exhibition 2025 "Snakes in the Vacant Lot" will be held from Thursday, January 9, 2025, to Friday, February 24, 2025.

The zodiac sign for 2025 is the "Snake" (Mi). People have sometimes feared and sometimes revered snakes, which move freely with various patterns on their long, slender bodies. Whether in the East or the West, snakes have been depicted in cultural artifacts with diverse images, such as messengers of the gods, masters of life, wise beings, or incarnations of obsession. In this exhibition, to mark the beginning of the new year, various works related to "snakes"—including rare books, folding screens, mirrors, photographs, and decorative frames—have been gathered from departments involved in cultural heritage activities on Keio University campuses. We invite you to the habitat of these slightly scary yet vibrant snakes.
