Since joining the Faculty of Law as a full-time lecturer, Professor Yutaka Shimomura has contributed to education and research at Keio University for 34 years. He has also held important positions such as the Principal of Keio Shiki Senior High School and the Hiyoshi Head of the Faculty of Law.

At the Research and Education Center for Natural Sciences, he also contributed to the MEXT "Distinctive University Education Program" (GP) and the "University Education Promotion Program," which served as the foundation for the center's establishment. He also served as a key committee member within the center.

In his research, starting with statistical turbulence theory, his study on rising boiled eggs is known worldwide. He will pass on his journey of education and research, centered on physics, to future generations.
