Since its establishment in 2021, Keio Museum Commons (KeMCo) has emphasized student participation and explored various ways of engaging with students.
Beyond collaborating with the Museum Curator Training Course, we are trying various approaches, such as co-planning exhibitions and public programs with students. In particular, the activities of "KeMCoM," a student-led project involving students from different specialized fields, have become indispensable to KeMCo.
Against this background, we will hold an International Roundtable on the theme of "Student Participation in University Museums." This roundtable will focus on placing students at the center of museum activities and expanding and diversifying the nature of their participation.
We hope this will be an opportunity to share recent practices, discoveries, and challenges in this field.
