The lecture "What is 'Information' in the First Place?" will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

In "Liberal Arts of Information," we focus on the "light and shadow of information" and invite leading lecturers from various fields to speak about the pros and cons of information use, as well as the future of information technology.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, we will hold a lecture titled "What is 'Information' in the First Place?" by Mr. Takehiko Daikoku (Professor, Meiji University and Meiji University Graduate School). Please join us.

We use the word "information" casually and frequently in our daily lives, but when we think about it carefully, the concept of "information" is extremely multifaceted and elusive. Recently, discussions themed around "information" have become active in the field of philosophy as well. In this lecture, I would like to explore the secrets of "information" from multiple angles, such as philosophy, the history of science and technology, and information society theory.
