On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, we will hold the [Minasan Mirai Project] Public Symposium ②: What if an earthquake happened now? —Thinking about disaster prevention on campus—.

The "Minasan Mirai Project," supported by the Keio University Future Leading Fund, began in the 2023 academic year. Its purpose is to step outside the campus and create a cycle of learning that considers life and society within nature.
In this project, we are learning various things from the people of Minamisanriku Town, who experienced the earthquake disaster. We would like to share those learnings with everyone on this campus.
If an earthquake happened now, what should I do? How should I act afterward?
We will hear from Koji Ioku, a natural science researcher who was teaching at Tohoku University on March 11, 2011, and Akemi Yamauchi, a historical sociology researcher from Minamisanriku Town who has long been active in supporting the town.
Please participate in the discussion to think about the earthquake disaster from your respective perspectives.
