Alternative Approaches to Science? - Responding to the Call to be Open and Responsible will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The "Declaration on Science and the Use of Scientific Knowledge," adopted at the dawn of the 21st century, confirmed that science should exist alongside society.

This necessity has become even stronger following developments in scientific research that have the potential to renew our understanding of life and humanity, such as the emergence of constructive approaches in biology and the development of artificial intelligence that surpasses human capabilities.

How, then, can such an ideal state of science be realized?

In this symposium, using the keywords "Responsible" and "Open"—which have been adopted in European research and innovation frameworks—we would like to consider what "responsible science" and "open science" as demanded by society are, and what we can do now to realize them.
