Several years have passed since the concept of "Information Health"—achieving the information intake status desired by individuals through awareness of information intake balance—was proposed. However, the health of the information space has not improved; rather, it must be said that it is deteriorating with the progression of the "attention economy." Furthermore, issues surrounding the information space, such as the spread of disinformation and misinformation regarding wars, have transcended national borders, and there is a strong demand for urgent action within international frameworks.

In this symposium, while referring to discussions in various countries regarding a healthy space for public discourse, we will further examine from an international perspective how the discourse space in Japan and the world should be in the future, as well as the concept of "Information Health" itself. Additionally, we hope this symposium will serve as an opportunity to collaborate with research institutions and researchers from various countries to promote "Information Health" internationally and implement various research and activities as we address issues in the information space through international frameworks.
