In "Information Literacy," we focus on the "light and shadow of information," and invite top-tier lecturers from various fields to speak about the future of information technology, along with the advantages and disadvantages of using information.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, we will hold a lecture titled "Why Does AI Create a Discriminatory Society? - Problems and Preventive Measures" by Dr. Takashi Kitamura, a principal investigator at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Please join us.
In recent years, AI has become smarter and more accurate in its judgments than humans in many situations. On the other hand, AI tends to make discriminatory judgments. AI learns the discrimination and bias hidden in data and reflects them in its decisions.
In this lecture, we will introduce actual cases of discrimination by AI, as well as cutting-edge science and technology to detect and prevent them.
