Keio University Mita Campus Architecture Promenade: Special Architecture Open Days will be held on Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Have you ever thought about the architecture you spend your days in? The houses you walk past every day, the stations you use for commuting, the school you attend—why not start by stopping for a moment to take a look?

The architectural group at Keio University Mita Campus has undergone various transitions to reach its current form. Some buildings were constructed during Yukichi Fukuzawa's lifetime, while others were designed by leading Japanese architects of each generation. The preservation of many such valuable buildings allows one to feel the history of the Juku.

If students who casually use these buildings as classrooms or libraries every day realize that they are Important Cultural Properties or works by world-renowned architects, they will become more aware of their surroundings—the university and its architecture—and turn their attention to rich spatial experiences.

Furthermore, the architectural group on the Mita Campus provides a rare environment where one can witness the flow of Japanese modern architectural history. Therefore, these buildings are extremely important cultural resources not only for Keio University but also for the local community.

We will specially open the "Ex Noguchi Room" and "Enzetsukan (Public Speaking Hall)" at Keio University Mita Campus, which are usually closed to the public. We will also distribute maps explaining the sculptures and architecture on campus. Please feel free to enjoy a stroll around the campus with a map in hand.
