The Keio University X Dignity Center Inaugural Symposium "The Significance and Practice of "X Dignity"—Re-examining Dignity in the AI Era" will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

In today's society, with the development of science and technology, we are entering an era where various boundaries—such as those between humans and machines, or the virtual and the real—are dissolving. In such an era, we believe that universities are required to conduct cross-disciplinary research and development on human "dignity," which should serve as the foundation for new values, and to implement the knowledge gained there widely into society.

This symposium will widely disseminate the philosophy and initiatives of the Keio University X Dignity Center, which was established in July 2024. Furthermore, through dialogue with many stakeholders in today's society, we will explore the "nature of human dignity" in the society of the future and consider the role of the center in this society.
