Alfonso X the Wise, "Cantigas de Santa María"

Esplendor cantado: Cantigas de Santa María de Alfonso X el Sabio

There will be a lecture and performance (by the early music band Iberolibero) regarding the masterpiece of medieval Iberian poetry, "Cantigas de Santa María" (1270–83), as well as an exhibition of a facsimile edition of the manuscript (Royal Library of San Lorenzo de El Escorial MS T.I.1) held by the Mita Media Center (Keio University Library).

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy live performances of medieval European music and directly view materials held by Keio University.
