At the Keio University Art Center (KUAC), we believe it is important to create opportunities for students to encounter the works of contemporary artists and engage with diverse perspectives within the university setting, and have thus planned contemporary art exhibitions.

As a new initiative, we are launching a three-year exhibition project with artist Motohiro Tomii, who is known for works that use ready-made objects to reveal new facets through a unique perspective. An exhibition is an "event" defined by time and place.

Usually, exhibitions are once-in-a-lifetime occurrences, which is part of their charm. By considering this "event" as a continuous three-year sequence, we will explore what kind of developments are possible and present the challenge of a new "event" from our small exhibition room.
