The Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI) was established in November 2016 as a university-wide research organization that spans across undergraduate faculties and graduate schools. The KGRI aims to promote interdisciplinary and international collaborative research that transcends single academic fields, countries, or regions; to disseminate its research outcomes both domestically and internationally; and to foster further collaborative research. To achieve these goals, more than 40 centers and projects have been set up within the KGRI through external funding and internal grants, conducting a wide variety of research ranging from basic research to those aimed at solving global societal challenges.
