The "Gakumon no Susume" Project, which began with a conversation with Sho Sakurai in the first video and has since welcomed a diverse range of guests, concludes its sixth and final installment with a dialogue between the leaders of Waseda and Keio. In this video, they will openly discuss everything from learning in the age of AI to sports culture, from the unique perspectives of these two universities with their long histories.

This project was launched in 2022 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of Yukichi Fukuzawa's "Gakumon no susume (An Encouragement of Learning)." We will begin streaming the sixth video installment, featuring conversations between Keio University President Kohei Ito and leading figures from various fields, on Monday, March 31, 2025. The guest for the final episode is Aiji Tanaka, the president of Waseda University, a friendly rival with whom we share a deep bond. The event will be hosted by Arisa Suzuki, an active announcer and a member of Gen Z who is making her mark in society, and a graduate of the Keio University Faculty of Letters.

The theme of this special video is "Waseda-Keio and 'Gakumon no susume (An Encouragement of Learning)'", and it explores how "learning" is a practical tool for us living in the modern world to forge our own futures and a driving force that encourages new challenges. As new challenges such as AI, globalization, and the increasing complexity of social issues continue to emerge, how can "learning" be of use? The leaders of Waseda and Keio will provide direct answers to questions from Gen Z staff members involved in university administration. Through this dialogue with Gen Z, the content, which offers hints for stepping out into the world—such as new ways of learning, models of leadership, and societal development—will be delivered in two parts (Part 1 and Part 2). We hope you will watch it.
