The Graduate School of System Design and Management at Keio University (Yokohama, Kanagawa; Dean: Seiko Shirasaka) and SpaceBD Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masatoshi Nagasaki), in collaboration with Nikkei Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tsuyoshi Hasebe) and with the cooperation of Benesse Corporation (Headquarters: Okayama, Okayama; Chairman and CEO: Daisuke Iwase), have launched the "UNIVERSE UNIVERSITY(*) Program: A Cross-Disciplinary Program for Developing Human Resources in the Space Business that Fosters Learning and Growth through Theory and Practice." (*Pronounced "Universe University")

This program has been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's (MEXT) FY2024 Commissioned Project for Promoting Aerospace Science and Technology, titled "Cross-Disciplinary Human Resource Development Program for 'Space × Humanities and Social Sciences'" (Principal Investigator: Naohiko Kohtake, Professor at the Graduate School of System Design and Management). It primarily targets graduate students, undergraduate students, students of technical colleges, and young professionals interested in practical space business with an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates humanities and sciences.

By having academia, industry, and the media jointly promote the program, it aims to significantly contribute to the learning and growth of participants in the space business through both theory and practice. The program is designed to cultivate not only knowledge and skills in science and technology but also in humanities and social sciences such as philosophy, law, and international studies; interdisciplinary fields like systems engineering and project management; and essential problem-solving abilities such as creativity and leadership. It will offer a variety of lectures delivered on "Udemy," one of the world's largest online video platforms operated by Benesse, as well as case studies, practical workshops, internships, and camp-style activities.

In conjunction with this launch, the first symposium commemorating the program's establishment will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and three lecture contents on space business will be released.
