On Saturday, March 15, the Keio University Athletic Association will hold the 18th Sakura Sports Festa 2025 at the Shimoda Athletic Field and Shimoda Student Village (Hiyoshi-Honcho, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama) under the theme of "Interaction between the Local Community and Students."
The Sakura Sports Festa aims to build a cooperative and lasting relationship between the Keio University Athletic Association and the local community, making the association more accessible by deepening interaction through the unique medium of sports. It is an event planned and run independently once a year by members of the five Athletic Association clubs that practice at the Shimoda Athletic Field (Baseball, Rugby Football, Soccer, Field Hockey, and Softball Tennis) as a token of their gratitude.
Following last year's event, which was the first in-person gathering in five years, this year's festival will also be held in person. The day will feature the "Shimolympics," where people of all ages, from children to the elderly, can experience the joy of sports, as well as hands-on workshops from each club and stage events by members of the local community.
