A research group led by Tomoya Kojima (a third-year student in the Doctoral Programs at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University), Professor Koichi Asakura and Associate Professor Taisuke Banno of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the same university, and Associate Professor Pierangelo Gobbo of the University of Trieste (Italy) has successfully developed a new method for forming artificial tissue composed of numerous artificial cells into a fiber shape. As a result, it is now possible to control the shape and arrangement of artificial tissues, which was previously difficult. The group also succeeded in creating functions such as controlling the movement of the artificial tissue and the propagation of chemical substances within it. The results of this research were published in the American scientific journal "Advanced Science" on February 10, 2025.
