The Keio University Art Center (KUAC) is a university-affiliated research center established in 1993.

The Center, without being confined to any specific field, ideology, or theoretical system, leverages the interdisciplinary strengths of a comprehensive university. It broadly engages in both theoretical research and practical activities from a perspective that integrates findings from various academic disciplines, all centered on the theme of the role of artistic activities in contemporary society.

In 2013, the Keio University Art Center (KUAC) applied to the Tokyo Metropolitan Curriculum Advisory Committee and was designated as an "Institution Equivalent to a Museum" under the former Museum Act. Following the revision of the Museum Act, it reapplied to the Tokyo Metropolitan Curriculum Advisory Committee for "Registered Museum" status. After a review, it was newly registered as a "Registered Museum" on December 23, 2024.

As a university museum, we will continue to contribute to the advancement of art research both in Japan and internationally.
