Keio University (President: Kohei Ito) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (President and CEO: Akihiro Fukutome, hereinafter "SMBC") have signed an agreement on industry-academia collaboration and support for startup creation (hereinafter "this Agreement").
Based on this Agreement, we will jointly promote support for original research and development and industrial development, aiming to create new innovations and build a startup ecosystem to address various social issues.
Notably, this is the first initiative of its kind, where the unique solutions that Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation has provided to startup companies will be applied to university basic research and seeds. This collaborative framework will connect them with the needs of potential corporate partners while also establishing a system to create and promote startups.
