Narita International Airport Corporation (hereinafter "NAA"), Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "JAL"), and Keio University will conduct an earthquake disaster drill at Narita Airport on December 6, 2024. This will be the first time the three parties have collaborated to conduct an earthquake disaster drill.

This drill simulates a scenario in which a large-scale earthquake occurs and an intensity of upper 6 on the Japanese seismic scale is observed at Narita Airport. The objective is to practice the initial response for safely evacuating customers. This will be achieved by having employees working in the passenger terminal buildings (hereinafter "airport employees") conduct initial response procedures, guide customers to safety, assess damage, and share information promptly. The drill aims to raise disaster preparedness awareness and foster a common understanding of how to respond in the event of an earthquake.
