Keio University
The Keio University Art Center (KUAC) has been organizing contemporary art exhibitions, believing it is vital to create opportunities, especially in a university setting where the younger generation learns, to encounter the works of contemporary artists and to be exposed to diverse perspectives. As a new endeavor, KUAC is launching a three-year exhibition project with artist Motohiro Tomii, who is known for his works that use ready-made products to reveal new aspects of them through his unique perspective. An exhibition is an "event" defined by a specific time and place. It is usually a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, which is part of its charm. By considering this "event" as a three-year series, we will explore what kind of developments are possible, launching this challenge for a new kind of "event" from our small exhibition room.
