The Keio University Affiliated Schools BLS Committee and the Keio University Sports Medicine Research Center will hold a symposium aimed at promoting the widespread adoption of BLS education in educational settings.

It has been over 20 years since Keio University's affiliated schools began systematic education in BLS (Basic Life Support) in 2002. Practical training in skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to operate an AED at each level from elementary to high school were all pioneering initiatives, and today, these efforts are being undertaken in many schools across Japan. Furthermore, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the approval for public use of AEDs.

This symposium offers a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the practice and social significance of BLS education, featuring a panel discussion with experts in emergency medicine and sports medicine, as well as teachers and alumni who have been directly involved in BLS education. We look forward to the participation of many individuals involved in education and sports. We kindly request that you announce this event in your event listings and provide media coverage.
